1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized In Delaware House Fire

HARTLY, Del., (CBS) – Officials say one person is dead and another was hospitalized after a house fire Thursday morning in Hartly, Delaware.

The fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. in the 3100 block of Bryant's Corner Road.

The Hartly Fire Company arrived to the scene with smoke pouring from the one story home.

According to the Delaware State Fire Marshal, firefighters found one person dead inside the home after the fire was extinguished.  A second person was able to escape and was taken to the Kent General Hospital with smoke inhalation.  The victim is listed in good condition.

The fire marshal says fire damage is estimated at $100,000.

This fire remains under investigation.
