Gamers Line Up At Midnight For Release Of Madden 25

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's one of the most popular games of all time, selling nearly one billion copies since the series' inception back in 1988. Dozens stayed up late to get their hands on Madden 25 as soon as the game went on sale at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning.

You may have noticed that your normally chatty co-worker is a little quiet, or your buddy in homeroom can't seem to keep his eyes open. Well they were probably among the thousands that stayed up late to get their hands on Madden 25 before the rest of us. But why the dedication?

"Obviously, everyone loves football," says one devotee. "But it's the bonding aspect. This is the 25th year Madden's come out, you played with your brother when you were a kid, you played with your friends growing up."

"I'm just a football player, you know? I just like playing the sport. So thought, I've got to get the game for it."

There is a downside to the yearly-release of Madden, and that's that it signals that summer is coming to an end.
