Philadelphia Man Sentenced To Prison For Facebook Threats

By Tony Hanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 20-year-old Philadelphia man is sentenced to prison for internet threats against a witness.

Defendant Freddie Henriquez has been sentenced to eleven-and-a-half to 23 months in prison for multiple Facebook posts where he threatened witnesses, specifically a witness against a friend of his charged in a straw purchase gun case.

"The post was eight different cell phone images of the witness's statement," Prosecutor Andrew Wellbrock said. "He also had posts all over his website that said kill all rats."

The defendant, who had no prior criminal record, expressed remorse, basically claiming ignorance that he didn't realize how deep this was.

The judge rejected that excuse and Henriquez was taken into custody, while his mother sobbed.
