Farmersville Elementary School Closed As Mold Removal Continues

EASTON, Pa., (CBS) – The Bethlehem Area School District says Farmersville Elementary School will remain closed Tuesday and Wednesday as mold removal continues.

According to the school district, cleaning, remediation, and air quality testing is not complete.

"Families who have children enrolled in the Farmersville Elementary School Day Care may transport their children to Miller Heights Elementary School on days when Farmersville Elementary School is closed. Additional costs may apply. Please check with the childcare supervisor upon arrival," the school district said in a statement on their website.

"We understand the inconvenience this continued closure is causing many families and apologize for that inconvenience. We will not rush the process as we work to ensure a clean and safe learning environment for our students and staff. We will determine how these emergency closure days impact the school calendar after consultation with the PA Department of Education," the school district also said in the statement.

East Hills Middle School will open at the regular time on Tuesday as mold remediation was completed.
