The CloudSpotter App

By Chris Morris

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – On today’s APP-tastic and Outta SITE – Cloud Spotter.

NASA is crowd-sourcing weather.

CloudSpotter is an app that enlists the help of smart phone owners to monitor the effect of clouds on the climate.

All you have to do is take pictures of the clouds around you. Try to guess its type – and the app will let you know if you’re right. As with most apps of this ilk, there’s a game element as well, with ranking boards and a live feed of pictures submitted by others.

Check out the CloudSpotter app.
