PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It was the summer of 1996, and the rumors about Eric Lindros and accused mob boss Joey Merlino were flying. Instead of relying on rumors and hearsay, Howard Eskin decided to go right to the source.
Eskin took a trip to a coffee shop owned by Merlino, and asked him to appear on his afternoon radio show on 610 WIP to clear up the rumors regarding Merlino's relationship to Lindros. Merlino agreed, and the rest was Philadelphia radio history.
