EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. (CBS) — Creating visions of Indiana Jones crossing a gorge on a rope bridge or a kid in a tree house, a cool Pocono mountain glade lets you live the fantasy.
It’s an aerial obstacle course in a pristine section of the Fernwood Resort. Pocono Tree Ventures lets anyone in reasonably good shape see the world from treetop level. A pair of staff trainers talk about what’s in store.
“It ranges from net walks to tightrope crossings,” one trainer explained, “and a few zip lines in between.”
“You’re probably going to feel some muscles you forgot you had,” a second trainer added.
The courses that spans 14 acres are graded from easy to the more challenging. But Andy Worthington, the man behind this active lifestyle adventure at Fernwood, sums up the lasting sensation.
“To be 40 feet up in the trees,” Worthington said, “safely hooked in and look around, it’s really beautiful.”
The harnesses are provided. Just remember to wear sports shoes, ditch the flip flops and get ready for adventure.
