Over 150 Soldiers Return To Delaware Valley From Kuwait

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After being in Kuwait for almost a year, more than 150 soldiers from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard are returning home.

We're in the middle of a heat wave where temperatures are peaking in the high 90's, but that's nothing compared to the heat these soldiers had to deal with.

"It's not hot at all. I'm actually cold right now," said one soldier.

"The hottest we experienced in Kuwait was 135. One day we had it, it was 135 degrees," said another.

The troops say they are happy they get to see their friends and family, but they are taking on one last mission together before they get some down time.

"I want a cheesesteak! Pat's cheesesteak, Pat's cheese," one said.

This is the first wave of solders from the 55th Armor Brigade coming home.

The rest are expected to filter in through the next few weeks.
