Teen Ordered To Stand Trial In Montgomery County Girl's Death

SKIPPACK, Pa. (AP) — A teenager has been ordered to stand trial in the stabbing death of his girlfriend on a suburban Philadelphia hiking trail (See Previous Story).

The 17-year-old Skippack youth on Wednesday waived a preliminary hearing in Montgomery County on first- and third-degree murder charges.

He's charged in the May 25 slaying of 17-year-old Julie Siller of Royersford, who was a few weeks away from graduating from high school.

Defense attorney Timothy Barton and the defendant's parents declined comment to reporters after the brief hearing.

Prosecutors allege that the defendant stabbed the victim and hid her body in the woods along the Skippack Trail, where the two had been arguing.

Authorities have said that the youth's mother told investigators that her son had recently been treated for a narcotics problem and had been taking antidepressants.
