Police: Thief Steals Gold Chain Off Woman's Neck In Rittenhouse

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for a suspect who they say snatched a gold chain from a woman's neck in Rittenhouse.

The June 12th  incident happened at about 9:55 a.m. while the 57-year-old victim was on the route 38 SEPTA bus stopped at Broad and Chestnut Streets.

According to Philadelphia Police, the suspect, who was seated behind the victim, was exiting the bus when he allegedly snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled the bus on foot west on Chestnut Street.

Authorities say the victim suffered a laceration on her neck.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 5'11"-6'1", with a thin build and a thin goatee.  He was wearing a black Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap, a dark blue t-shirt with a Nike logo on the front and dark colored shorts.
