Treasurer Of Youth Soccer Club In Whitehall Township Accused Of Stealing $100K

WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- The treasurer of a youth soccer club in Lehigh County is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from the club over more than six years.

Brian Farley, 54, of Walnutport, has been charged with one count each of Theft and Receiving Stolen Property, both third-degree felonies.

According to investigators, the president of the Tri Boro Youth Soccer Club in Whitehall Township filed a theft report with police in March of this year.

The president, Tino Babayan, said Farley was the treasurer of the club and was the only person with access to club bank accounts. Farley had been the treasurer since 2006.

At a February 2013 club meeting, Farley reported that the club bank accounts contained more than $30,000 and that he had paid for club uniforms.

After the meeting, Babayan discovered that Farley had not paid for the uniforms and that the accounts contained less than $5,000.

A review of records determined that most of the money that the club had collected was missing.
