ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Five passengers who survived a fatal plane crash in Alaska are a Pennsylvania family who was on a cruise line expedition for Duke University alumni.

The Duke Alumni Association says the five are the Rev. Frank Allen, rector of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Wayne, Penn., his 54-year-old wife, Amy, and their sons, 24-year-old Will, 21-year-old Rob and 19-year-old Ben, a Duke student. His parents and brothers are Duke alumni.

Amy and Ben Allen were seriously hurt and medevaced to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Another passenger, 66-year-old Thomas L. Rising of Santa Fe, N.M., was killed when the small sightseeing plane crashed into a mountain near the town of Petersburg Tuesday.

The pilot also survived.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued the survivors. Rising’s body has been recovered.
