Fire At Please Touch Museum Forces Evacuations

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Crews battled a fire at a Museum in Philadelphia Friday afternoon.

The blaze broke out around 2:30 p.m. at Please Touch Museum, located at 4231 Avenue of the Republic, in Fairmont Park.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene.

People could be seen standing outside of the museum as fire crews worked to put out the fire.

Officials report the fire began in the kitchen and was placed under control by 3:30 p.m.

A Please Touch Museum spokesperson says the museum will open at its regular time on Saturday, May 18th at 9 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
