Average Starting Salaries For College Grads Up For Class Of 2013

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (CBS) – There's some good news for 2013 college graduates.

According to a new survey from the Bethlehem-based National Association of Colleges and Employers, starting salaries are up from 2012.

This year's college grads command an overall starting salary of $44,928 – up 5.3% from the Class of 2012.

The study shows that starting salaries increased in fields of study across the board, with some up nearly 10%.

Engineers had the highest projected starting salary at $62,535, while those graduating with degrees in the humanities and social sciences had the lowest at just $37,058.
