Del. Mother Turns Son With Firearm Into Police

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) - Wilmington Police say a mother turned her son in Saturday morning when she discovered the 18-year-old was carrying a handgun.

The incident happened on the 300 block of North Scott Street in Wilmington, Delaware around 11:15 a.m.

According to police, the mother found a .22 caliber revolver after searching her sons backpack following an argument. Her son, Michael Colon, is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.

Colon was arraigned and released after posting a $10,000 secured bond.
