Police: Man Arrested, Charged In Woman's Murder In Folsom, N.J.

FOLSOM, N.J. (CBS) - A man has been arrested and charged for the murder of a woman in Folsom Borough, N.J. on Friday.

New Jersey State Police say they responded at about 8 a.m. to a residence on Lenape Terrace.

Troopers immediately took Darrin Plumlee, 43, into custody for questioning and medical treatment. Police say he lived at the home.

Once inside the residence, the troopers found 30-year-old Merry Abernathy, dead. Police say she had obvious signs of traumatic injury.

Authorities believe the two were in a relationship.

Plumee is currently under guard at an area hospital where he was taken for treatment of a self-inflicted injury.

He has been charged with murder.

The exact cause and manner of Abernathy's death will not be available until a medical examiner's investigation is completed.
