Non-Dairy Bar Recalled For Undeclared Milk On Ingredient Label

CARLISLE, Pa. (CBS) – Lifestyle Evolution Inc. has voluntarily recalled several varieties of its non dairy bars, prompting two food markets to remove the products from their shelves.

Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets have removed NuGo Non Dairy Bars due to undeclared milk, an allergen, on the ingredient label.

The varieties that have been recalled include:

  • NuGO Nutrition Bar Dark Chocolate Trail Mix, UPC 69153545301, 16.9 oz, with a best by date in 2013
  • NuGO Natural Energy Bars Chocolate Chip, UPC 69153552101, 50 grams, with a best by date in 2013
  • NuGO Natural Energy Bars Dark Mocha, UPC 69153552301, 50 grams, with a best by date in 2013
  • NuGO Nutrition Bar Dark Pretzel, UPC 69153552901, 19.08 oz, with a best by date in 2013

The companies report that the product is safe to eat for people without a milk allergy.

Any customers, with a milk allergy, who have purchased these products from Giant Food Stores or Martin's Food Markets should discard of them and bring their receipt for a full refund, says the company.
