Excitement Building For La Salle's Sweet 16 Battle With Wichita St.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Hours are dwindling, but excitement is building as the La Salle Explorers face Wichita State in the Sweet 16, and perhaps nowhere is that excitement more evident that at the La Salle campus store.
A line snaked near the cash registers as fans bought regular La Salle gear and special Sweet 16 tees and sweats.
Book store manager Mark Allan has two words to describe the rush.
"Holy smokes," he said. "This is a place that normally has a lot of school spirit, but it's been totally off the hook."
La Salle grad Patricia Spurrier came down from Glenside for an armful.
"Just lots of tee shirts, Sweet 16 tee shirts for family and friends, some hats and alumni stickers."
La Salle employee Doris Martinez was not only buying, but express shipping her haul to her folks in Seattle.
"They're actually keeping more track of the NCAA than I am, and so they're really excited about La Salle."
There's a watch party on campus tonight and others in the area.
