Two Teens Critically Injured In Roosevelt Boulevard Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a crash on Roosevelt Boulevard that critically injured two teenagers.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of the Boulevard near Woodhaven Road in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle, swerved off the road and struck a tree. The car then caught fire.

Authorities say all six people in the car were taken to Aria Health Torresdale Campus for evaluation.  Four people were treated for minor injuries and released. Two 18-year-old men were admitted in critical condition.

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were factors and say the 20-year-old driver is facing DUI charges.
