HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) – The Pennsylvania Attorney General is warning consumers about a potential scam.
Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane says agents in the state have been getting numerous complaints about people –whether in person or on the phone – pretending to be employees of PPL or Duquesne Light.
The scammers are offering a new low-rate energy product that is actually raising consumers’ rates significantly.
According to Kane, customers are warned to be very careful of any sales approach resembling this one, whether it is via phone call or door-to-door solicitation.
