PALO ALTO, Calif. (CBS) — Facebook today unveiled a new look for a portion of its web site.
The social network has revamped its newsfeed to give its users what Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg calls “the best personalized newspaper.”
The changes consist of three main points.
First, larger images for more prominent and visual stories. Second, a choice of feeds, so you are able to dig into any topic and have more control over what you see. And third is that these changes are “mobile-inspired,” meaning the user’s experience is consistent across viewing platforms.
The new design was being rolled out to small groups on the web today, and on mobile over the next few weeks.
Zuckerberg launched Facebook in 2004, and today the site reports more than one billion active monthly users.
