PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Eighty-three Temple doctors have made it to the annual “Best Doctors in America” list for 2013.

Dr. Larry Kaiser, Dean of Temple University’s School of Medicine, says the just-released list is a prestigious honor.

“So this was Best Doctors In America. The list for 2013 is compiled and published by Best Doctors Incorporated. Best Doctors, you know, was founded a number of years ago by some Harvard Medical School physicians and they work with the best five percent of doctors, ranked by impartial peer review,” says Dr. Kaiser.

He says 83 doctors is fair share of those who work at Temple.

“So it’s 15 percent of the doctors who are here at Temple. We have about 550 physicians here at Temple,” Dr. Kaiser explains.

And he’s very proud of those numbers.

“Temple has a long history of providing outstanding clinical care for the community and the region and we’ve been very aggressive about recruiting additional outstanding physicians to Temple,” Dr. Kaiser says.
