PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Nearly two dozen homes were evacuated Thursday morning in the Hunting Park section due to a reported gas leak.

The incident started at about 9 a.m. in the 4500 block of N. 12th Street.

According to authorities, a call was placed for the strong odor of natural gas in the air.

Approximately 20 homes were evacuated and they were temporarily housed at a nearby church. Residents were allowed back in after the all-clear was given.

Philadelphia Gas Works were at the scene investigating the natural gas odor.

There were no reports of any injuries.
