Arrest Made In Connection With Human Remains Found In Buena Vista Township

By Robin Rieger

BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) – New Jersey State Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the remains of two bodies found in South Jersey.

Authorities confirmed on Sunday that the remains were found Friday in the yard of a property along the 1100 block of Harding Highway in Buena Vista Township. A source tells Eyewitness News that a car belonging to one of the victims was found burning in West Philadelphia on the same day.

A neighbor near the home says she called state police early Wednesday morning after she saw a flashlight beam and the silhouette of someone moving around inside the home. She says it had been vacant since the people renting the property moved out last summer. The neighbor says she saw people with flashlights walking around outside the property on Thursday night and again called state police, who told her it was them.

State police say the human remains were recovered from the private property after a search warrant was executed.

Police did not release the name of the subject in custody or the names of the two victims, but more details were expected to be released during a press conference on Monday.

Authorities say they are not searching for any other suspects, but the investigation is ongoing.

The cause of death has not been released.
