PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – First Friday gallery openings in Old City Philadelphia will soon be expanding to include art-related activities stretching into the whole weekend.
It might be winter time, but First Friday gallery openings in Old City are going strong.
“We have more students coming in, we have art students setting up,” says Florcy Morrisset, founder and creative director of Vivant Art Collection and Consulting.
“First Friday is an opportunity for all the art galleries to exhibit their art collections, as well as for young artists to come out on the street and sell their art.”
She says starting in March, First Fridays will be expanding to First Weekends.
“On Saturdays during the day we’re going to have educational programming and on Sunday we’re going to have brunch and art and so we’re going to partner with some of the restaurants in Old City. They’re going to have their brunch, and then we want you to come out and check out the art!”
She invites folks to visit or re-visit the neighborhood. The price to browse the galleries is free.
