Storm Disrupts Rail, Air Travel

By Al Novack

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The morning snow storm had some affect on mass transit, this morning. Philadelphia International Airport reported weather-related delays of up to an hour and 30 minutes and SEPTA suspended service on its Cynwyd Regional Rail line due to switching problems. The agency expected service on the line would resume in the afternoon, starting with a train leaving at 12:20 p.m. from Suburban Station.

PATCO, NJT and DART didn't report any major widespread problems, but the transit agencies say they are preparing for this morning's storm.

SEPTA was also reporting 20-minute delays on its Paoli/Thorndale Line Regional Rail line due to signal problems. And the agency salted many platforms, stairwells and parking areas ahead of the rush hour.

PennDOT brined the major roadways and salt crews were standing by all morning.
