A fast moving storm system is bringing snow to the region this evening.
Snow will accumulate 1 to 2 inches causing reduced visibility and slippery spots on area roads and walkways. Give yourself plenty of extra time heading out this evening as snow will stick to everything given the recent frigid temperatures.
Expect the snow to taper off from west to east by 10 p.m., but it will remain very cold overnight with temperatures dipping into the teens.
The weekend will feature more sunshine and temperatures will slowly moderate each afternoon.
The CBS3 Weather Team is keeping an eye on another system which could start off icy on Monday morning before that precipitation changes to rain. After that, temperatures soar and the mercury will climb into the 50s by the middle of next week.
