PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged with multiple burglaries throughout Montgomery and Delaware Counties.

A year-long investigation resulted in the arrest of Derrick Carter, from the 4600 block of Sheffield Street in Philadelphia.

Carter is charged with 26 counts of burglary, seven counts of attempted burglary, four counts of aggravated assault and numerous lesser charges. Eight of the burglaries committed were in various areas of Lower Merion Township but also spanned to Delaware, Montgomery and Bucks Counties.

Carter’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 24, 2013.
