PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An officer-involved shooting in Philadelphia is under investigation.

It happened at about 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Sergeant Street.

Authorities say an officer opened fire on the suspect, striking him in the lower left side. Police transported the man to Temple University Hospital. His condition is not known.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet clear.
