Winter Weather Is Headed Our Way, Starting Wednesday Afternoon

We’re barely into winter and the region is already bracing for winter weather.

There is a winter storm warning in effect for the Poconos from noon on Wednesday through noon on Thursday, while the Lehigh Valley and Berks County is under a winter weather advisory from noon Wednesday through 7 a.m. on Thursday.

In the city, a flood watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

Wednesday is expected to be windy with rain, sleet and snow. Snow accumulations could be up to an inch in the nearby northwest suburbs and 1-3″ for the Lehigh Valley.

Wednesday night, heavy rain in the city and snow and sleet to the northwest is expected. Rainfall should be around 1-2” and the temperature will be around 37.

On Thursday, an early AM rain or snow shower is possible before the sky clears and the day turns sunny but windy and cold with temps in the low 40s.

After a clear but chilly Friday, more snow or rain showers are heading our way on Saturday.
