PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Super quick last-minute gifts: avoid crowds altogether and buy a membership online in seconds to a local garden or arboretum.

Getting a membership is a great gift for anyone who loves to garden or just likes to see pretty things growing because it gives you the freedom to visit a garden over and over all year for free, to see how it changes. So you can get to see not only the bulbs and blossoms in spring, the roses blooming in June or the blazing colors of autumn leaves, but all of that, plus discounts and access to special events and first peek at the plant sales.

To finish your gift giving lickety split, Greater Philadelphia Gardens has created a quick pick list so you can just click to give a membership.

Check it out at GreaterPhiladelphiaGardens.org.

Hit the link to find one of your favorites or maybe discover a new garden to explore. And once your gift giving is finished, maybe get one for yourself or make a donation before the year’s end to help support our area arboretums throughout the next four seasons.

Or consider giving a membership to a gardening club. For just $25, you can give a gift membership to the Hardy Plant Society where any gardener can learn a lot by connecting with other plant people to share advice about plants of special interest, take trips, and enjoy access to plant vendors not usually open to the public.

Check it out at HardyPlant.org.
