PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As we approach the final shopping weekend of this Christmas season, expect to see some big discounts and good sales.

There have been some deals along the way, but retailers haven’t been offering big blockbuster sales they have in years past. But, in hopes of saving a season that’s been disappointing, we could see those retailers offer up some big deals this weekend, good news for those of us who wait until the last-minute:

“Yeah, it’s a good thing. I’m still shopping,” one woman said. “Not done yet, getting there.”

Hoping to make up ground before Christmas, retailers say there will be buy-one-get-one-free sales or other deep discounts. A couple popular clothing stores are cutting prices on everything from 40-60 percent. And the big-box stores say they’re working to re-stock the popular, harder-to-find items.
