Parents Located In Case Of Child Found Wandering Alone In New Castle County

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police have located the parents of the young child that was found wandering around alone early Sunday morning.

According to police, a driver found the child wandering around the intersection of 896 and Route 4 around 5:30 a.m. in Newark, Delaware.

Police say the driver took the child to the Wawa at Fletchwood and Elkton Roads and notified police who took custody of the child.

The child has been described as a black male around the age of 3 wearing a lime green and yellow t-shirt with gray shorts and white socks; he did not have on shoes.
Police say the child says his name is Jordan.

He was taken to A.I. DuPont Children's Hospital for evaluation. Authorities say Jordan does not appear to have any injuries.

Newark police confirmed that the parents for Jordan have been located.
