Police ID Suspect Wanted In Connection With Mt. Airy Robbery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police in Philadelphia have identified a man suspected of robbing a Mt. Airy linen store.

The incident happened on Dec. 1 at 7:20 p.m. when a man entered Anna's Linen at 301 West Chelten Avenue and purchased chair pads. After the transaction was complete, the offender displayed a black semi-automatic handgun in his waistband and demanded the employee give him money from the register. The offender then fled that store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The suspect has been identified by police as Tony Robinson, a 39-year-old male from the 4900 block of Warnock Street. He's described as a black male between 5'7" and 5'9" and 30-40 years of age. He has a medium brown complexion, thin build and a goatee with some graying. He was wearing a silver and green leather jacket with the Philadelphia Eagles logo on the back, a dark knit cap, gray sweat pants and black and white sneakers.

Police are warning anyone who has seen Robinson not to approach him. Instead, they should call 911 immediately, or submit a tip via telephone: 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
