South Jersey Woman Sentenced In Slaying Of Romantic Rival

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey woman who fatally stabbed a romantic rival during a fight two years ago has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Ebony Rand Crosson of Camden initially faced murder charges in the death of 16-year-old Bryasia Pitts, but pleaded guilty in October to aggravated manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Pitts and the 21-year-old Crosson had a long-standing feud over a 22-year-old Camden man who fathered two of Crosson's three children but was dating Pitts when the September 2010 fight occurred.

Crosson, who was almost six months pregnant, went to a party to speak with the man about their children. She unexpectedly ran into Pitts, and the two women argued.

Crosson left with the man, but Pitts and her friends followed them, and the fatal fight soon erupted.
