DeSean Jackson Out For The Year With Fractured Ribs

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)  – Andy Reid announced today at his day-after press conference that DeSean Jackson will be placed on season ending injured reserve with fractured ribs. Reid said that the injury should take about six weeks for Jackson to recover from, and will not affect his off-season training.

Reid said running back LeSean McCoy is still in "phase 1" of his concussion recovery, and that Michael Vick has yet to pass his impact test as of yesterday. Nick Foles will likely start at quarterback on Sunday night in Dallas against the Cowboys.

Jason Peters, who has been recovering from a ruptured Achilles, was placed on season ending injured reserve. There was thought that Peters may be able to play this season after suffering the injury just before training camp.

The Eagles lost their seventh straight game on Monday night against the Panthers. "Injuries are not an excuse for our record. The next guy plays. There are no excuses," Reid said. The Eagles record now stands at 3-8.
