1 Hospitalized After Attempted Robbery, Shooting In Southwest Philadelphia


PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting that occurred Friday night in Southwest Philadelphia.

According to police, a 21-year-old male was shot one time in the left jaw by an armed suspect that attempted to rob him on 51st and Willow Streets around 10 p.m. Friday night.

The victim was transported to the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

The suspect has been described as a black male in his 20's with a light completion, light facial hair and a thin build. He was wearing a black hat, red and black jacket and dark pants.

Police say the suspect was last seen heading southbound on 51st street toward Pentridge Ave.
