PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – No one won Wednesday night’s Powerball lottery drawing.
That means the jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is at an estimated annuity value of $325 million. One South Philadelphia Newsstand says sales are slow on a holiday.
There certainly wasn’t a rush for Powerball tickets at Mike’s newsstand and Broad and Oregon.
Mike who runs the place says he does expect ticket sales to pick up until Saturday but not by much thanks to the economy and the holidays.
“And they won’t spend the normal amount of money. I don’t think there is going to be a big turn out to be honest with you. It’s just bad timing people do not have money for everything right now.”
He does have his regular customers still dreaming of striking it rich one day.
“I don’t play much but do play to $4 per week.”
“I work hard. I’m trying to work less hard.”
Powerball is played in 42 States, Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.
