PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Since the Comcast Center went up in 2008, a must-see holiday tradition has been checking out its entertaining video display wall. It’s up and running again with the sights and sounds of the season in the Comcast lobby, at 17th and JFK Boulevard.
The 5th annual “Comcast Holiday Spectacular” includes familiar favorites like scenes from The Nutcracker, performed by the Pennsylvania Ballet, a sleigh ride through snow-covered country, and sounds from a 64-piece orchestra. It’s all displayed on an 83′-by-25′ video wall, which has five-times the clarity of an HD TV.
“It’s a 15-minute show that celebrates everything to do with the holidays,” says
Comcast’s Karen Buchholz says each year, they tweak the display to dazzle and delight audiences.
“This year, we are starting the show with super high-resolution computer generated imagery of snowman symphony.”
Get there at the top of each hour daily, 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. – except weekdays at 5:00 p.m. – through New Year’s Day.
