PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The question is a simple one but the answer is not that easy. The question goes like this: I have been watching my diet very closely but Thanksgiving dinner has always been a chance to celebrate with family and a great meal. How do I enjoy my meal but not totally destroy what I have done?
The answer is not clear cut but here is my take on this. My feeling is that a diet doesn’t work unless there is a sense of reality. I think it makes sense to enjoy an occasional break. It can actually strengthen dieting efforts because it is seen as a positive step.
The major point is that any diet plan is a lifetime effort.
