Police Investigate Fatal Crash In Montgomery County

LOWER MERION TWP., Pa. (CBS) – Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Lower Merion Township.

According to police, around 2:05 a.m. a Nissan with two males inside collided with a utility pole while driving westbound on Rock Hill Road.

Police say the driver, Jason K. Dubin, 27, of Merion Station, was pronounced at the scene of the accident; the passenger, Nicholas Tropea, 22, of Narberth, was taken to the University of Pennsylvania hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities report that excessive speeding was the cause of the accident.

Rock Hill Road will remain closed until repairs have been completed.
