CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (CBS) - Just in time for the holidays, a Conshohocken-based online shopping site is offering a new delivery option.
http://www.ShopRunner.com has debuted PickupPoint for online shoppers in the Philadelphia region. You buy items from one of its many partners like shoes.com, drugstore.com, NFL Shop, or F.A.O Schwarz and have it delivered to one of nearly 100 locations, like inside a 7-eleven or Toys-R-Us store, instead of it sitting outside on your door step all day long.
“Things get stolen or left outside where they get damaged by the weather,” Shop runner president Mike Golden says you will get a delivery notification email within 2 days after placing your order.
“I could either print out that delivery notification or just walk into the store with my phone and show the email. But you go to the store associate at the front desk who will scan the bar code then retrieve your package and then retrieve your package and hand it to you. It’s that simple”
He says those who sign up in the Philadelphia region get a free trail offer for three months. They plan to have more than 10,000 pickup locations nationwide next year.
