PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Three women were arrested following a prostitution bust in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
It happened a little before 5 p.m. at a massage parlor near 3rd and Chestnut streets. Philadelphia Police say they were acting on a tip on an illegal massage parlor that was being run out of a basement.
Authorities say there were allegations that there were underage females working at the parlor who were physically and verbally abused. However, investigators say at this time, there is no evidence any underage girls worked at the parlor or that anyone was physically or verbally abused.
Investigators say they have a long history with the location, dating back to 1998. Not including Wednesday’s arrests, there have been 25 prostitution-related arrests, according to police.
Authorities plan to review the evidence they collected during the raid, including surveillance video, to see if any additional arrests are warranted.
