Armed Man In Disguise Attempts To Rob Philadelphia Grade School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are searching for an armed suspect who posed as a delivery driver to gain entry into a Philadelphia grade school.

The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. Monday at Saint Helena School located at 6101 North 5th Street.

According to investigators, the suspect approached the delivery entrance door of the school and pushed the buzzer stating he was making a delivery for the school.

When the suspect entered the building, he was met by a school employee on the second floor. Investigators say the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The employee then led the suspect to a first-floor classroom where he was able to ran away from the suspect and call police.

The suspect then ran out of the school without obtaining any money.

Police say the suspect is described as a white male or a light-skinned black male, 6'3" with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a black baseball cap and a fake bushy beard.
