PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Big political moves underway and a possible area for compromise.
First – the fiscal cliff crisis, the end of tax cuts and reduced spending in January. What you heard from President Obama and house speaker John Boehner was a race toward compromise.
Boehner said the GOP house will not accept tax hikes for the wealthy but he called for quote “raising revenues,” which means the GOP is open to eliminating some tax breaks for the wealthy, like many existing tax deductions. So look and hope for compromise.
On the campaign trail, yes its back, Florida GOP star Marco Rubio heads for a fundraiser next week for the Governor of Iowa, the first test in 2016.
