PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – There is the general assumption that once the Philadelphia Eagles’ season ends, and Andy Reid’s contract is expired, the team will be looking for a new head coach, and a familiar name could be a candidate.
94WIP’s Howard Eskin reports according to his sources, Jon Gruden is interested in coaching in the NFL once again. Eskin said that Gruden’s success as a coach, plus the relatively weak group of NFL assistant coaches will make Gruden a leading candidate in Philadelphia.
Gruden, currently an analyst for ESPN, was the Eagles offensive coordinator from 1995 until 1997, and later won the Super Bowl as head coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs. He’s been out of the NFL since he left Tampa in ’08.
