HARVEY CEDARS, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he is disappointed in Mitt Romney’s defeat and surprised how quickly the presidential race was over Tuesday night but says it’s no time “to look in the rear-view mirror.”
Asked Wednesday about whether he is now eyeing a presidential run four years from now, the Republican governor says, “I’ve got a job do here in New Jersey.”
Said the governor: “This is who I am. I love this job.”
Christie was the first governor to endorse Romney and raised millions for him during the campaign.
He says “the president of the United States had a very good night last night.”
Of Romney, he says: “He knows I am sorry it didn’t work out.”
