PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Find out which foods can help you battle cancer when a chef and author comes to Fox Chase Cancer Center on November 15th.
The Cancer Fighting Kitchen by Rebecca Katz details foods you must eat to keep yourself healthy, along with foods you should eat to battle the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy.
“The surprise food is mint,” Katz said. “Mint has so many phytochemicals in it and cancer fighting phytonutrients that five mint leaves a day whether in your tea or in a salad, that would be one great cancer fighting food.”
She suggests cooking with fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices.
“Food you could be eating to mitigate side effects from treatment, to foods that can help you thrive during recovery. There are 150 yummy recipes.”
