PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An Old City community center conducted a clothing swap for neighborhood residents on Wednesday.
The Christ Church Neighborhood House on American Street conducted the event, hoping to give the community an opportunity to find items for the fall and winter.
There was one and a half tables of clothing, a half-filled rack of coats and shirts, and a half table covered with shoes and other accessories available for the taking.
Anna Drozdowski is the director of Neighorhood House.
“Plenty of people have the need to find something new for their wardrobe, get rid of their kids’ clothes, find stuff for their growing kids, bring in the stuff that’s last season, take something home that fits better. That’s really what it is.”
And, what happens to the items that are left?
“We’re donating everything to the Camden Neighborhood Center. One of the vestry members here is really actively involved in this organization. So we’ll box it all up and take it just across the river to New Jersey.”
