3 Men Arrested For Allegedly Abducting, Sexually Assaulting Teen For 3 Days In Upper Darby

By Tim Jimenez

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) - Police in Upper Darby arrested three men who they say abducted a teen girl off the street and raped her several times during the course of three days.

"What these guys are alleged to have done to this young lady, and I can't emphasize it enough, not only was it horiffic and heinous but it was savage," said Upper Darby police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

It was 11 p.m. this past Friday night on Bonaffon Street in Southwest Philadelphia. A 15-year-old girl was walking and police say a car pulled up to her with three men she says she did not know.

"A guy gets out, grabs her arms, she tries to pull away but he's obviously much stronger, and he pushes her into the back of the car," Chitwood said.

Police say the three suspects, who are now in custody, are Eddie Johnson, 37, of Philadelphia and Upper Darby residents Alfred Kulah, 35, and Mortimah Kesselly, 41.

Investigators say they drove around for a half hour and the girl did not know where she was. Chitwood said they then took her to an apartment on the 500 block of Long Lane in Upper Darby.

"For the next three days; Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night into Sunday, they sexually assaulted her," he said.

The girl found a way to escape Sunday morning and police say she reconnected with her father who took her to the hospital. Chitwood said she did not suffer serious physical injuries and they alerted police on Monday.

"Obviously traumatized, being raped multiple times. I can't imagine the emotional trauma," Chitwood said.

Police say the investigation continues and the suspects are charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and related offenses.
